Practical training in methods for finding leaks, understanding wiring and working safely in water supplies.
At DWI we hold courses in leak detection and wire search for water utilities, contractors, industrial companies and organizations working with critical infrastructure. The courses are based on the same methods and instruments that we use in our daily work in the field.
The teaching takes place, among other things, at our DWI Leak Academy at DTU Science Park in Hørsholm, where theory and practice can be combined in realistic environments.
What participants learn
The course gives participants a practical understanding of how leaks and installations are located in a wiring network.
During the course, participants work on, among other things:
- methods for coarse and fine localization of leaks
- use of hand listeners, correlators and loggers
- wire search on different pipe types
- tracer gas for precise localization
- understanding of leakage noise and measurement data
- introduction to analysis and monitoring of wiring networks
The teaching alternates between review, demonstration and practical exercises.
