Basic course in pipe and leak detection
1- or 2-day course
Day 1 is held together for all course participants at our Leak Academy test track at DTU Science Park in Hørsholm and alternates between theory and practice. We review, among other things:
Theory:
- Methods for coarse and fine localization of leaks
- Instruments and connectivity options
- Leakage noise loggers
- AI machine learning modules
- Instruments for locating trace gas
- Correlator for precise leak location
- Emergency plans introduction
Practice:
- Wire search on plastic – cast iron – PE
- Precise location of leaks with:
- Hand listener
- Correlator
- Use of tracer gas
- Leakage noise loggers
Day 2, which can be selected, takes place together with one of our leakage specialists with extended and student-relevant practical exercises as well as training in a local water supply network.
Practical information:
Since part of the course takes place outdoors, we recommend that you bring appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather conditions.
The course is ideal for utility companies, technicians, operators and other professionals who work with water loss, leak detection and emergency response.
