In many places in Central Denmark, the soil is so sandy that a leak never leaves a trace on the surface. The methods are the same, regardless of whether the pipe is located under a main street in Herning or a grass field near Karup \u2013 but the emphasis changes. On long, undisturbed stretches, correlation measurement is superior: Two sensors on opposite sides of the leak measure the arrival time of the sound, and the position is calculated with great accuracy, even over considerable distances.<\/p>
